Captains California Bike Ride – 16 -24 September 2012
Our own Velindre Ambassador, Town & Country Hotel’s MD Julian Hitchcock and his team “The Bear Back Riders” will be joining the Captain’s once again as he hopes to beat his Kilimanjaro Climb fundraising total of over £27000.
We hope to have regular updates from Julian and the team as they start their training and fundraising efforts.

Friday 11th May – One for the Girls at the Bear Hotel
The Bear Back Riders have decided us girls are good for some fun and fundraising too.
So girls it’s a no holding back on the laughs, the moves and the dancing around the handbags as a night full of entertainment is laid on just for us. We will also be treated to a fantastic supper of course, although we may all be too busy laughing to fit it in!
Dress; Jeans to party frocks it’s an anything goes night!

Following the phenomenal success of the Brains SA Captains Climb up Mount Kilimanjaro last September, the second major Captains event was launched at the Senedd by First Minister Carwyn Jones, Velindre Fundraising President Jonathan Davies and former Wales rugby captain and Captains Climb participant Mike Hall.
The Captains California Bike Ride, taking place from 16th–24th September 2012, is a grueling 390km bike ride from Yosemite National Park to San Francisco, with a spectacular finish over the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. The ride will be led by Jonathan, Mike and Velindre Patron and Cardiff Blues and Wales star Martyn Williams
